I’m emerging from a whirlwind week that included the best turnout and the closing climax of a great national book tour. it was great to be back home for the Houston book launch for We Took the Risk!
This last Tuesday night, hosts Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and Capgemini, with support from ALLY Energy & Silverline Communications, had 200 of us gathered together to speak about renewables risk-taking and the future of the cleantech industry in HTX and Texas overall.
The book also hit a new milestone that evening: the 1,112th book sold.
It truly takes a community to pull these events together and my list of thank yous would break LinkedIn’s algorithm, but there are a few I must thank who were with me from Day 1 to plan the Houston event: Amanda Halter, Mona Dajani, Elina Teplinsky, Elfije Lemaitre, Claire Pringle Gotham, Katie Mehnert, Laura Taylor & Tanya Alan Correa. I’m beyond lucky to have these colleagues back me, the book, and the powerful message the book has that we all can make an impact in this industry.
The fireside chat participants knocked it out of the park (as always) – thanks again Amanda Halter, Claire Gotham, Pat Wood, III, Deborah Merril & Katie Mehnert! Jeff Bishop, you were missed!
Lastly, there are a number who labored behind the scenes to make this event seamless – Amy Sheth, Chad Klekar, Jennifer Ramsey, Hariharan Krishnamurthy, Raul Gonzales, Naomi Amparo Lambert, Riccardo Volonterio, M.Eng. PMP, Catherine Pellegrin and so many others who stuffed those countless swag bags.
