Aside from providing professional networking and business opportunities, RE+ Las Vegas has always been a special event for me on a personal level. It’s given many of us in the solar industry the opportunity to celebrate milestones, support philanthropic and educational efforts, and invest in the next generation of renewables superstars, known as the “Solar Fellows”.
This year’s events will be gathering over 40,000 solar and storage focused technology providers, investors and financiers, engineering and construction services entities, civil society, and so many other stakeholders as they come together to face the challenges and opportunities in front of a burgeoning industry. As we venture into future growth of the industry, it is more imperative than ever for us to focus on workforce development in STEM fields across all the solar and storage supply chain. We must do better an an industry as what we’re building will need hundreds of thousands of dedicated colleagues – from construction to O&M and asset management.
For me, RE+ also marks my 1 year anniversary “pre-launch” of the book, when I had the honor of gifting the first printed copies to the 2022 Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) & GRID Alternatives Solar Power Fellows (it was also my first time seeing the books in print from New Degree Press). I’m so thankful to have shared that moment and have kept in touch with Alexandra Cornacchia, Somtoochukwu Ik-Ejiofor, Sarah Montañez, Kayla Partridge, Kiran Anand Rekha, Seda Sarp and Christian O. Stone, LEED Green Associate! Here’s a peek at last year’s post and picture below with all of us!

Thanks to Doseke Akporiaye & Randa Adib, I have the honor of gifting the updated editions to the new 2023 Fellows tonight, September 11th here in Vegas! I’m looking forward to meeting you all at the WRISE Reception and sharing with you the stories of the original risktakers in renewable energy. Congrats again to: Shubhi Arora, Sydney Collins, Shalom Iboh, Rachael Kohler, Benise Limon, Maitreyee Sanjiv Marathe, Camille Minns & NGAGOUM NDALLOKA ZITA!
